In our school, we practise the Formative Assessment System. This innovative system is based on the principle of appreciation, not grading. It is a deliberate choice aimed at creating an atmosphere that supports development and encourages the exploration of knowledge.

It’s important to note that in Polish schools, we often encounter a varied level of Polish language proficiency among students. Therefore, our Formative Assessment System is perfectly suited to this context. Students, who vary in language skill levels, find in this approach space for individual development.

In our school, we recognize that each student has their unique path to learning and discovering the world. We do not set uniform standards that could make students with different levels of language proficiency feel lost or discouraged. This allows us to focus on what is important for each student and support them in achieving their goals.

Our approach can also be appreciated in the context of integrating students with various levels of Polish language proficiency. As a result, students not only learn from each other but also build mutual support and motivation. We are proud that our school is a place for everyone, regardless of their experience with the Polish language, further highlighting the unique value of our Formative Assessment System.

Every three months, we conduct an evaluation of a student’s progress, during which teachers and parents together summarise their achievements, strengths, and areas for development.

Our priority is to build students’ sense of self-worth, passion for learning, and the ability to work independently. We believe this is the best motivation for development and learning the Polish language.
